When viewing the <title> for a thread, the thread title is displayed first, followed by forum name, "Forum University". IMO that should be the other way around, with -

Forum University - Thread title

It's the same on WHT too, so it's a VB 3.5 thing. :dfingers:

Yep... I noticed that when I upgraded recently.

Well, if you keep it this way it will certainly help FU's SEO :)

I think the change is good. Too many websites use "Website Name - Thread Name" these days. I think it's probably better for SEO.

Yeah. :)

Aside from that, IMO the most important information should be first. If people bookmark a page, they want to see what the page is about if only the first part of the title displays in their bookmark.

From highrankings.com (http://www.highrankings.com/issue139.htm#guest):

On their results pages, most search engines use a page's title tag as the first line in a site's description. Typically, Google truncates titles somewhere between character 63 and 67.

It's wise to put your main phrase at or near the very beginning of the title. This quickly shows the engines and your visitors the focus of your page.

That's just the first page I found on this. I've seen this topic discussed before.

Okey dokeley. If it helps with SEO, I can live with a back to front <title> :D
