Hi,
Please share which was the first forum you joined and how, what were your experiences.
To me i joined my first forum as WHT, prior to this I never seen or logged into a forum and it took me a lot days to understand the forum thing, I was searching for a hosting plan, and in google i saw this forum, when i first saw this, I just said a big WOW, After lurking of some 6 months, I finally joined.
When i was a new user, I was highly impressed with that thing, I used to think that the software used for this forum is worth millions.
It is the most wonderful forum I have ever seen, a lot of technical knowledge and I am proud to invest my time there.
What are your experiences .. let us all know.

I agree with SWR - I too first made my forum appearance on WHT, at which I too became a post-a-holic and haven't been able to put it down since.
I love SWR's signature. I agree totally - there is no wrong thong - just some shouldn't wear a thong if you know what I mean. ;) So SWR, please don't try on your product.

He likes the pink lace one the best.
www.geekvillage.com was my first forum. I joined there in May 2001. I was looking for answers on how to get money earned from a company who had stopped serving non USA countries.

Oooo nice question.
My first forum was guiStuff. It was hoorrrrrible site. It was all these ugly little flash interfaces you copied and pasted onto your site. It was about 2000 and for some reason or other the forum itself was very nice and full of people trying to learn graphics themselves.
Then it just poofed one day, and i cried.

The site was ugly. The forum was default ubb i think. Its been a few years.
Plenty of simple/ugly/not amazing looking graphics communities. It is the content that matters. Look at www.cgtalk.com and WEEP.
Well there is always www.yaxay.com ;)
Can't really remember, but the earliest that I can remember would be my own forums which the hosting expired after 1 year and FWS.
The first forum I ever joined was Invisionfree.com, :banana:that was then when I created my own forum. But know I moved away from that and I've started several forums of my own.

The first forum I joined was Security-Forums (http://www.security-forums.com), where I joined the anti-malware team about a year later. Second I joined WHT and now I'm a Community Liaison.
I don't like just joining forums... I try to be as actively involved as I can. :)

I also applied to be a Community Liasion there, But they dont like good people there :bump:
I can't seem to remember, but FreeWebSpace would be one of the earliest.
I used to just look through forums without joining them when I was young and first interacted with forums.

The first forum i can remember joining was this forum about life issues. It was really nice there and the people offered really good support for me in my time of need.
