Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone knows how or if you it's even possible to have post started by xml feeds.

For example - you have a forum category called "Tech News" and you have post being generated from the feeds associated with such places as "PC Mag" etc.

Thanks,
Jerett

Which forum software are you using? Most of the main ones do this as standard.

Yes several forum softwares allow this. Some are standard, others are plugins.

It would be Vbulletin and I want to have it generate new threads as the feeds update to allow for discussion. Is it possible and if so - any direction?

BurakUeda uses it at his forum www.humo.org. Perhaps you can shoot him a PM?

I don't THINK so.... - but maybe it's there....

Have a look for some mods that'll do it

I have tested this feature and it works very nice with IPB, thousands of posts daily.

phpBB2 is your best bet for learning (IMO), it does not need linux, it has the largest database of add-ons and because of its already long lifetime, it has a massive and helpful user-base in its support forums.

It has been losing popularity over the last couple of years but as soon as phpBB3 is finally released it looks like it will take its place as the number one again.
Another reason to use phpBB2 is it will allow you to get to know the community while the wait for phpBB3.
If you haven't got much time, and want to see what the new phpbb3 can offer, just try it out on this host : create forum (http://www.forumotion.com)

Hope this can help!
