How many users have you banned?

Just like the topic says, how many users have you banned on your boards?
On my main forums (gamingultimate), I've banned one user who was caught cheating on our servers (he was banned by the anti-cheat program) and then abused our staff via the PM system.
On the forums I moderate (linuxboards) I've banned 2 users
-1 user PM spammed and post spammed members asking "a/s/l", and he now has a 1 year ban
The other user was the previous owner, and decided to make himself a backdoor account to watch our mod forums. Needless to say, he got banned pretty quick (he also stole our theme :angry:).

You don't have to post detailed info about the users you banned, but I'm just interested in how many users you've had problems with and banned.

:jawdrop: I guess this was the guy that I sold it to? Or was there another guy? Pretty messed up thing to do. The guy I sold it to did email me a couple times asking if I would sell the skin when I owned the forum.
Why would I pay that much for a custom skin then sell for a few bucks lol.
Anyhow, Is he still using the skin?

Yeah, he copied it and all the forums over from LinuxBoards when he sold it.

I can't stand the guy, the nerve of him to sell linuxboards after he took all the forums and the theme and moved it to his new forum :angry:

Edit: He also took posts from LB and copied them to webmaster forums. Is that even allowed???

I don't even wanna think about WHT.

I think bannings are going to depend firstly on how large the forum is. And secondly, the community at large. Certain communities are bound to have a higher ratio of bannings than other communities.

It would be interesting if someone could collect some stats, as to the banned member percentage. It could be fairly even accross multiple forums. Stats have a way of evening out, in the long run. :think:

We have banned a few on Kim's forum. There's probably a total of about 10, mostly people that spammed. A couple that were members for some time but kept causing heahaches were given an free "account disabled" title and one member that was banned from Webhostingtalk that slandered one of the mods there.

There have been around maybe 5000 users between the forums I have owned myself but I have only ever banned about 10 people.

I normally try something else before banning but sometimes banning is the last and only option.

I'd say about 5 and numerous warnings. We don't even ban spammers, we give 'em another chance.

Without looking at numbers, I would say that is fairly accurate. The smaller the forum, the less that ever get banned. :armed:

I have banned 12 users out of 740 registered members. There were also some temporary bans which I can't remember as they have expired now...
adb22791 don't worry too much about stealing. I know a person that keeps copying my site. Well, guess what? He has less traffic than me and whatever he copies is worse than the same thing on my site. Copying something is never better than the original ;)

Not too many .. some people would spam and will get the boot .. I think 3-5 memebers in my 6 forums. Am a nice admin :D
