Today the Walker family went to the Gold Coast. Left Toowoomba at around 8:15am and hit the Gold Coast at around 10:30am. Unloaded the troop carrier (Tarago) and setup Command Central (2 chairs, 2 eskies and swimming gear under a nice tree), on the beach. Then the kids made their way to the water, and Mrs Aussie Bob took her position on her chair, under the tree. I then embarked on walk along the beach.

I don't know how far I walked but it took me 2.5 hours, there and back. There was some kite surfers down the beach, and I was walking towards them. I plan on eventually learning how to kite surf, but that's a year or 2 down the track. The kite surfers didn't seem that far down the beach, but it's amazing how far away they actually were, when you get there.

I love walking along the water's edge, where the water comes and wets my feet. It's so soothing, and great excercise. The sand's fairly hard (but not too hard) there, so it's pretty good to walk on.

Had my iPod with me, and was listening to a heap of new music I added from iTunes. Also did some dream building about one day building a house on the Gold Coast beachfront. Seems those blocks there start in the millions, that dream is a fair way away. Per square meter, it's some of the most expensive land in Australia, but hey, you're on the beach at the Gold Coast. :D

Dropped the tribe off at my sister's place, stayed there for a while, and I headed off to the "Tallest Residential Building in the world", Q1 (http://www.qtallesttower.com/). Their Observation deck was opened to the public a week back, and I went up. It's on the 77th and 78th floors, and the views from there were simply stunning. The people on the beach were the size of ants, and you could see the whole of the Gold Coast. Simply amazing.

Got back and we went to Maccas for dinner, before heading home. As we're walking into Maccas, we see 2 families we know from Toowoomba. Small world indeed. :D

So that was our day on the Gold Coast. :pink:

You mean you left your Missus looking after that tribe alone, near water, for 2.5 hours? :nervous:

Sounds like you all had a great day out :) Glad I live a bit closer to the beach (five minute walk) :dancin:

The Boss had it all covered. The kids mainly played in the sand and stuff. They were actually not on the surf beach, but in a kind of inlet, where there's no waves. Lots of families go to there. She insisted I go for my walk. :iunno: :D

Yeah, a couple more houses built and sold and I'd like to be on the Coast. Maybe North coast or Gold Coast, but somewhere on the water. I like Toowoomba, but I want to live on the water.

My thoughts exactly. Did she get to go on a long walk by herself too?

Glad to hear you had a good day. :)

Nahhhh. She's 7mths preggers, so long walks along the beach aren't a good idea. The Boss prefers the sitting and relaxing. :)

She's well looked after. We Aussies know how to look after our Queens. Foot massages every few days and a new home full of kids. :D
