Why is this forum orange? It looks funky that way :(

It has been for a few days now ;)
Looks good - makes it stand out.

. . . makes it stand out.Yes. The point was to make it stand out.
I still ain't sure that the color is the best choice yet (cuz it reminds me of active links in the header). But, I thought that could just be me. :bag:
It's just a little something different. Because I've noticed other communities where threads that are about the site are posted outside of categories that are for that specific.

I thought it was just a hover colour the first time I noticed it. You could try one of the yellows from the banner, but they might be too bright :iunno:

How about brown?

That looks nice, soft but unique :agree:
It isn't colour coordinated now :P

It isn't colour coordinated now :P
It isn't? IMO it blends better than the other colour. A problem with web colours, though, is that they display differently on different monitors. Sometimes quite differently.
Personally, I don't think it needs to be a different colour at all. Has anyone had difficulty finding this forum?

. . .I don't have problems finding it . . . . now. :P
FU doesn't follow. It leads. :fuheart:
I've never seen this done at a different community. But, I've never seen a community where all threads that needed to go in this category were started in this category.
That's not to say the different color is going to make a difference. Only time will tell.
But, I do see that it is noticeable (without jumping out and smacking you).

I can see you getting a lot of mileage out of that line. :guitar: :headset: <-- supposed to be a singer

But that's true about every category.

It doesn't smack me, but it does jump out. It suggests to me that this is the most important forum rather than the forums on managing, for example. :scatter:
It doesn't matter to me, but I thought I'd point out another way of looking at it. :goggle:

Maybe this should have been posted in Challenges so we can see how many other communities follow suit.

I meant that it didn't match the (then) current colours used, orange matched the buttons used on the forum :) The brown still blends in but looks a bit drab after seeing the orange :fuheart:

I been trying to find something that's like the orange, only darker. It's just a chore finding a color in there that's web safe.
I'll just keep at it 'til something fits. :cowboy:

Why web-safe when the other colours aren't?
I used to design using only web-safe colours, but it was horribly limiting. There aren't many monitors these days that are limited to those 216 colours. With the few that are, users can still see the page, just not as well.
At this site, all the other non-web-safe colours will distract them from one title that isn't web-safe. :goggle:

Just a habit of mine, I suppose. :scatter:

It was a habit of mine too until I got tired of web-safe colours and realized that articles about using them were years old. When I decided to get rid of that habit, a whole new world opened up for me. :spin:
