Hey everyone :)

Time to start another challenge! Hoping to see some other people starting challenges for their sites too.

WebmasterForums.NET (http://www.WebmasterForums.NET) is another one of my sites that I am working on.
The site currently has the following stats:
Threads: 8,477
Posts: 24,845
Members: 1,320

I think I will have a problem meeting some of my goals here, mainly because I just changed to a new domain yesterday and I changed from IPB to vBulletin, so I have lost PR, search engine rankings and also any links that are going to my site.

Anyway, here we go again :

[ ] Reach 2000 registered members
[ ] Run 2 competitions
[ ] Add a directory for webmaster scripts with the design totally integrated
[ ] Interview at least 3 webmasters of large sites
[ ] If PR updates, try get it up to a PR4 (New domain so will be a struggle)
[ ] Add a gallery but integrate and modify it so users can use it as a portfolio

That's all for now anyway.

I will be working on this, deuceace.com and alldotnet.com full time for at least a few months so lets see how it goes!

Go for it! :)

There are already a lot of webmaster forums, but you've found ways to make yours different. You've also just gotten yourself another incoming link in this thread. :)

You can get yourself another link by submitting your site to FU's Toplist (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/toplist.php).

I think competition will be one of my main obstacles.

I am hoping that the new domain might help but not sure..it might cause more problems in the short term but I do think it will be a lot better for the long term.

I thought by selling off most of my sites and concentrating on just 3 would give me more time, but it doesn't seem like it ;)

I have got a few people that run big sites to do interviews so I should have those complete soon.

Integrated directory has been ticked (Or X'd) off the list, that was just finished a few days ago:

EDIT: Ahhh...cant edit my post. Could mods set it so thread starters can edit posts in this forum please?

. . . Could mods set it so thread starters can edit posts in this forum please?hmmm . . . that could take some work. But, I see where it would be a good thing. So, we'll work on it.

Just to into the admin panel / forums & moderators / forum permissions then change it just for this forum so posts can be edited.

Is that what you mean?

The edit time is a global setting, so he would have to create a plugin to allow an extended edit time exclusively for this forum :)

A problem with that is that people who have already read the thread won't see what's been edited because they'll probably read only new posts. It might be better to just add to the thread rather than edit what you wrote previously.

Time for an update:

[ ] Reach 2000 registered members

What was I thinking, this will be really hard, maybe competitions will help :out:

Competitions wont be hard, just have to get around to doing them!
Started a thread asking what type of comp people want so once I know that I will get started on it.

Done two interviews already - Both with owners of very large sites - Hoping this will also drive traffic to my site.
The first interview got over 160 views in the first day anyway so that was a good start!
I think if I interview people that have related visitors I could also get traffic from their sites coming to read the interview.

PR...I would predict PR2 and I think the update will happen soon.

Gallery has been added but theres a problem I need to fix for permissions - Should have it online soon :)
