Hello FUers,
I've been working on restyling the default PunBB Style (Oxygen) style for the better part of the night, and I've come up with a decent draft of how I want it to look. You can view the style at http://forums.photos.cx .
I'm still looking for critique in regards to what could be improved. If you have any ideas, let me know, and i'll implement those suggestions I agree with. The forum itself isn't started yet. I just installed pun tonight and started hacking away. I'm probably going to restyle the website index page based on the final draft of the forum style.
Your critique is appreciated, thanks.

I like the blue, but the greys don't appeal to me. :( Some colour coordination tools could help you choose different colours to go with that blue if you want. :)
I don't know what it looked like before, but I like its clean look.

I'm thinking about cooking up some light gradients for the topic / posts elements.

Oh, so I was commenting on the default.

Sounds good. :)
What specifically are you looking for feedback on? The categories? The...??
I would put the "How do I...?" forum first. It looks like the most relevant one to newbies.

Just the design right now. I did change the forum order up there though.

there are some mistakes when viewing in Safari. Take a look at attached image

I have no way of testing support for safari. Mozilla is accessable to apple users, they should use that if they want it to look good.

I'd try using #B96100 for the page border and probably for forum name text.
heh . . . I see you already have that, or close to it, on link hover. Guess I should looked closer.
You might want to sneak some #D4E7F7 in. Or even use #EAF3FB as some background.
Not sure what you're striving for with the design. Apparently, you like blue. :D
Who doesn't?
But, some contrast can be good. Well, complimentary contrast. Try some #FBF3EA as some background?

Redid the background gradient, and changed up the column colors. How's it lookin' now?

I'd try using #B96100
Blue and rust? Hmmm. Also, reddish-brown is one of those colours that can display very differently on different monitors.
I wonder if we're looking at the same colour?
The colour tool I'm using to view your hex #s is Color Schemer Online (http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html). It's been one of my favourite tools for years. :)

Good choices.

I'd like to see that one. :)

Getting there. :) But I have a strong aversion to a grey background. I see it too often when web designers don't specify a background colour. If no background colour is specified, the background is grey for me.
What do you think of Dennnis' suggestion of #FBF3EA for the background? It's soft and looks like it would go with blue.

#FBF3EA as which background?

The page background? You could try it instead of #dfdfdf for the body background colour.
On another subject, I'm just curious. Why did you choose a .cx (Christmas Island ccTLD) domain for this site?

It was suggested by a punBB person that I use light gray on the background image. I'll give it a try though.
A good domain was available on the tld, and the support people were quick, and polite. I even helped them with their website, by suggesting they list paypal support on the fees page.

If you want a blue in the Topics and Posts columns, I'd suggest something like #E3EBF0. Kinda a light blue/grey.
I think you're about there! :)
A little blue and grey.
Says the man with the blue and grey site. :D

I think it looks comfortable. :)

All opinions are subjective, including mine. When I looked at the forum yesterday, I thought that the blue background for "Forums," "Topics," etc. didn't work with the background for the columns showing topics and post count totals. I looked at it again today, and I'm left with the same impression. I don't think they look comfortable together. But maybe it's just me.

Well, I'm not a fan of them borders for them tables.
I don't know if it's cuz they're too big, or too blue. But, it gives it a pretty chopped up effect.
