View Full Version : FU Faculty
I don't know about you, but when I enrol at a university, I like to know who my profs are. I looked around and I see no official list of professors by subject, so I will have to make my own semi-intelligent guesses.

Lois has to be the undisputed choice as prof for English and all things related to languages.
TYLER
After recently visiting a site that he manually coded from top to bottom, I have to believe he's the resident Computer Programming professor.
(...still working on my list...feel free to help me out if you're so inclined...)

In addition to being the president around here, Dennis is the recognized department head of all the "Managing" forums in particular. He understands management as being far more than just telling people what to do or how to do it. He knows how to work with people and to look at all sides of issues. :notworthy
He's good at motivation too. He promised to bring a batch of homemade brownies tomorrow if I posted the above. :stickout:

Gee, go and spoil the fun, huh? Next thing you know, you're gonna try to say that the definitions I provided here (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/showthread.php?p=4651#post4651) aren't correct either. :ftag:
I first saw that compilation in a textbook I used to teach from. If it was published, it has to be true, right? :readpb:
I still like that compilation and most coincidences for that matter. For example, a friend of mine and I have the same birthday. We first met (not knowing the other person's birthday) on our shared birthday. That coincidence was the starting point for our friendship. We would've become friends anyway, but the coincidence made us feel like we'd been brought together for a reason.
Then there are the coincidences that saved us from danger.
Maybe they're all "just" coincidences, but I find it too limiting to dismiss that notion just because some coincidences can be explained. I think some people want to shut out the idea that there could be anything in the universe (fate, karma, whatever) beyond us.
Seein' as this is the Lounge, I think I'll leave that there and see if anyone wants to respond. It's all just opinion, and I'm interested in seeing different ways of looking at coincidences and whatever else is out there.

What did you do with it in class? Did you pick it apart or accept it as fact?
The textbook I was referring to was one for adult students learning English. It was just an extra reading, and I don't think I ever used it in class except as optional reading for the faster students.

We picked it apart. The instructor actually find the copy in the teacher's lounge and burned copies of it. This was during the disco era!
