How well does that new vB 3.5(.1) work in SEO wise?
Is there any recommended hacks/add-ons or should it work straight from the box?

You can find a hack for SEO, but my forum got attacked this afternoon by Yahoo Slurp Spiders, and MSN bots find me pretty hot too, so I don't think its neccessary. I had 3 Yahoo Bots on, and this forum is only 1 and a half months old :)!

Ach so... so no additional things aren't necessary?
Excellent.. I'm hoping I find a suitable timeframe to upgrade to 3.5.1 in next 2 weeks. Yey.

Personally I never used SEO hack until I upgraded to 3.5. Now, I'm in love with it, not only does it help the SEO you get these nice, and clean URLs. I would install it without a doubt in my mind now, provided that you install the WOL fix as well.
http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/ was upgraded to 3.5.1 earlier today and as I write this, there are 30 members and 440 guests online (mostly spiders):google: So I guess that is pretty quick work :yippee:

Known bots do not have a session hash, so the pages are spidered quite well. It works. No worries :)
vB also has archive/ to make it easier for crawling bots to get the content.
And we're improving the nofollow elements on links that bots shouldn't follow (to avoid 'permission denied' pages being indexed).
