I have a car forum, it's for a specific vehicle, not just a general car discussion. I was wondering what would be the best way to get owners of those models to post on the forums. The site is on google, and probably on msn/yahoo as well, but it isn't bringing much new members. What do you think would be the best way to spread the word about my forum?

You can view it in my profile. :) Thanks for any suggestions.

BTW if you guys want to use a free forum, use myBB it's best. Their SEO and stuff is so good, I have google, msn, yahoo bots almost every day crawling my forums.

in your sig, and on link directories, like link2share.com.

Welcome to WHT! :welcome:

Your topic might be a little narrow to attract a lot of members. Then again, guys like to talk about cars, so maybe not. ;)

Some ideas:

- Look for sites where this type of car is discussed, and email the webmaster asking if he'd like to include a link to your site. Offer a reciprocal link if you have a collection of links at your site.

- See if you can get your site listed at about.com.

- Put the link in your sig and take part in car forums and newsgroups. Of course you need to contribute as you would without the sig or you'll be seen as a sig spammer.

- Consider advertising, perhaps in newsletters about cars.

If you ask for a site review in FU Reviews (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/f-fu-reviews-26.html/), we can give you site-specific suggestions.

Good luck!

Lois
