View Full Version : Google paralyzed my forum?

Hello,

I have a forum at which I was offering free songs downloads. It was doing very well at the Goolge but at the beginning of the year I stopped offering downloads. This lead to thousands of pages showing "permission errors" to Google bots and google paralyzed the forums in early january.

Although google's at my forums all the time (or at least when I'm on), the pages do not get updated in index. The google index of the forums still shows threads from december and january and nothing latest.

I thought google would index it again after sometime, but this doesn't seems true. The PR of the forum has been bumped to 4 from 3 in the latest update but still the indexing hasn't begun. Is there anything I can do to make my way back at google again? I still get around 40% of the traffic from my old topics in google.

PS, can this be related to forcing google to use lofi while automatically redirecting human users to normal view?

Thanks!

Ok, it seems like the recent update has lead to indexing of new pages which I didn't noticed.

I would like to warn other webmasters, never make a forum hidden from google after it was visible for long time.

...never make a forum hidden from google after it was visible for long time. You mean it just kept coming back looking for them?

Yes, it kept visiting the very same topics which it had indexed long ago (maybe following older links at other sites or maybe google keeps visiting the pages again in it's index to keep the index updated?)

Well, it has started to index many more pages again and it's such a relief to see my pages in google again. I had done much SEO work and all the hard work seemed to be in vain after google stopped indexing my new pages 3 months ago. But it's all good now.
