Here comes the Word of the Day play.
We are going to be using Dictionary.com's Word of the Day (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/).
The next post in this thread will include the word for the first day of our target year in a sentence.
The next post needs to include the next word of the day listed.
You can write a paragraph, or a sentence. Whatever it takes to work the word in.
Bonus for being able to keep the thread in some sort of order.
The word has to be used in a way that its meaning is used, not something like, "I saw the word [word] yesterday."Let's start with the 2006 archive (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/) and see if we can bring it up to date. :)

It certainly helps to have some vim (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/01.html) when you decide to admin a forum.

It was worrying to think the squirrels had plenary (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/02.html) control over Forum University. :)
The squirrels and members here are gastonome (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/03.html)s. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

When building a website with PHP and MySQL, the sine qua non (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/04.html) is a server with both of these technologies installed.

I will act as an exegete (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/05.html) and point out that the 2006 archive (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/) is being used in this thread.

That seemed a profound and recondite (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/06.html) statement from Scott.
I dunno, it appears more of a diktat (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/07.html) to me.

What an ineffable (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/09.html) thought. I mean, if you really meant it. ;)

I have a slight dubiety (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/10.html) concerning the activity of this thread. :D

I have a slight dubiety (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/10.html) concerning the activity of this thread. :D
That's understandable considering what the next word is. ;)
After I read it, though, I got to thinking about how online discussions get people communicating more with words and less like pugilists (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/11.html). In forums, instead of a possible broken nose after a fight, the thread may be closed and the members reminded to be polite. OTOH, one of the examples of the word is "political pugilist," so perhaps the meaning of the word extends beyond the fists.
I like the word after this one (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/12.html). :spin:

I am posting an entry in this renascent (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/12.html) thread. Maybe we can use this word in place of bumping a thread :P

Well, if I returned to my sesquipedalian (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/13.html) ways, we could engage in recondite hieroglyphics.

I would be happily posting if it weren't for the encumbrance (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/14.html) of looming exams. :pullhair:

We need that pugnacious (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/15.html) Mikey dude in here to keep things rolling.
What happened to that capricious (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/16.html) Aussie Bob?

Being a quondam (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/18.html) MIA, the great Aussie Bob has returned to FU and has posted this wonderful thread (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/showthread.php?t=661).
Ergo (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/19.html) we can say he is still active?

I have irrefragable (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/21.html) proof that some people are not living in 2006. ;)
Under Scott's superb Tutelage (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/22.html) we have learnt that some people died in 2006 RIP

We should have a way to discuss some of the words we post, instead of remaining incommunicado (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/23.html).
/me is waiting for the chance to use myrmidon (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/showthread.php?p=6536#post6536) in general conversation.

We should have a way to discuss some of the words we post, instead of remaining incommunicado (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/23.html)...I may establish a predilection (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/archive/2006/01/24.html) to quote some text. But I haven't figured out how to discuss the word. :(
