Hi,
My alias is Sybaris but my real name is phill i am a 38 year old father of 2, I have been married for 10 years own my own house and have all the trappings of suburbia.
I recently started a website with a friend (Legion) from work as a partnership, We both put money into the startup and we are quite pleased with the results so far.
We have a website that we hope is going to cater for people like us who need somewhere to relax and chat we are also offering technical help (in our limited way we don't profess to be experts).
We have the usual type of website ---portal/forums/image gallery and arcade, We are hoping to branch into the automated mobile phone/email photo uploads this we hope will allow our users to upload photos from wherever they are which they take and find interesting or amusing. We allow nudes but not obscene or gynecological and these must be original and the users own work.
At the moment we are about 90% of the way to where we would like to be with regards to the site although we are desperately in need of a new header (if you know anyone that does this we pay reasonable rates).
We have the ability for users to upload the photos either from phones or email so that is complete, The next thing is to think about whether we want to allow a free for all and remove the member check on upload to the site (perhaps a topic for discussion).
We currently have less than 20 members and 2/3 of these post to the site. We have in the last week started to look to advertising with various outlets, We have a few places targeted that we believe will reap dividends they are targeted to our demographic and they are relatively busy so we hopefully should get a good return for our advertising £.
About a year ago i purchased the website name and did nothing with it, It was as you no doubt realize a flash of inspiration in the early hours that seem great at the time but got forgotten the next day, It was when i spoke to my friend at work about my purchase and the fact that i had tried to swap it at WHT for an xbox controller (a story for another time)that he suggested we tried to do something with it, At that point we had no idea what we wanted only that it needed to be fun,interesting and hopefully not bankrupt us.
So we had a thought looked around and came up with Http://www.thatsshocking.com It has undergone a few revisions with the design and content but as i say i believe we have got to a point that we need a header and we should then be there.
