Hey,
I have started opening up some sites for business only now, and forums will be part of the sites.
I think I am a lot better off now working on my business instead of in it.
By that, I mean by hiring people to do most of the hard work so I can focus on things that will help develop the community and sites, for example I have hired a content writing company full time to write unique content for me and I will soon be hiring an SEO company that will be working on getting me up there in search engine results :)
I think putting some money into that and working on other things, for example going out and finding advertisers that will pay the money for the people I am hiring will help a lot more in the long run.
I am already doing it with one forum and I can honestly say it makes work a lot easier and I am seeing far better results, plus my community likes it more when I have time to participate in it more myself instead of being caught up with working on the backend.
Does anyone else do this?
Has anyone else tried it?
I don't think this only applies to forums, but any other site or business that you want to develop quicker.
I know I will be losing out money at first on all sites, but even the content alone will be worth it.
Thoughts? :)
