Hey,
I have done this so many times now, I keep writing a really long reply to a post then by the time I click post my login has expired and I have to login, but if I press the back button the post gets deleted and when I login it doesn't automatically post the message.
I am going to change the cookie setting but I use a lot of different computers and forgot to do it a lot of the time.
Anyone know if there is any way to stop it?
Thanks :)

Let me guess, you're using the quick reply John?

Yep sure are :)
Does using the full reply stop it happening?
I normally just use the quick reply, because its....quicker ;)
If using the full reply will stop me losing replies though that would be a lot better.
You could always compose an anticipated long post/reply in a text editor :) I have done that at times when a lot of thought needs to go into something. It allows me to do other stuff whilst I think and add to it over a period of time.

I don't use the quick reply, but at another forum, posts occasionally disappeared after I clicked on Submit. I got into the habit then of copying post text to the clipboard (right-click, Select All, Copy) before submitting posts so that I could just paste it if necessary. :)

For me it does. Back in the day (Before 3.5.x and all that fancy AJAX), the quick reply would keep its text too. But as soon as it was AJAXified (), it stopped. When I go for a long winded reply any more, I either do the full editor or take Jan's advice :)

on a long reply that might be hitting that session logout time, I'll just do a select all and copy.. just in case ;)
it's saved me a few times
but then again, I rarely make a long post...looolz
