Hello!

A friend and I have recently decided to start a Forum, in an attempt to create a large community where people can come and discuss, in every aspect, everything Technological.

Now, I know these things don't happen over night, i've had the Forum up for a while now and mentioned in some cirlces we travel in etc, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Our Forums can be located at http://forums.tech-nuts.com/

Basically, I would really appreciate any help and advice on getting Forums off the ground. What sort of places should we talk about our Forums to get people to sign up and such like.

Any constructive criticism is welcome.

Thanks,
Daniel.

Try reducing the number of forums for starters. That is an overwhelming amount of forums to get started. A suggestion would be to have one forum for hardware, software, gaming etc and expand later when your membership grows.

Join similar, or not so similar forums and be helpful answering questions, whilst having a link to your forum in your signature.

Welcome to FU! by the way :welcome:

you need to fill the forum up with posts so it appears there are users visiting and using the forum :)

edit: what's wrong with this forum? I do a smiley face and I get a freaking squirrel!!!

So has anyone got any good advice on how to recruit new members?

Jan and fazel3 both gave some good advice.

Aside from advertising on sites that could use your service, what they have suggested are pretty standard for young communitys.

To get new members, they need to find you. And once they find you, they need to be encouraged to contribute.
