This process is rather a foreign to me, so please excuse me if I am not familiar with it, because well, I ain't :D
I have decided that I need to sell the forum I have been working on for quite awhile. I would love still work on, but I just can't work on it as much as I would like to, so I believe a change of ownership is in the best interest of the forum.
I know the first step is to alert the staff. But how would I go about doing this? I was thinking of PMing the head admin first, to try and get his thoughts on the matter. And then we would go down the ladder, other administrators, and then finally moderators. Or should I go about doing it in one lump sum - posting about it in the moderator's forum? I honestly don't think any would be interested in buying, but hey, it's worth a shot, plus I get their input in the matter.
The second step IMO, is to find a buyer. This is something I'm scared of, deeply. I could go posting on forums about selling it, but how do I know I can trust the new owner? I want the new owner to evolve the site into something that I cannot. While I do want it to go to a good home, I am still a greedy type of guy, I still want decent money for the forum. I've spent hours on it, and it's a "decently" sized forum. Any suggestions/feedback from your personal opinions/experience on how to go about selling a forum to a good home, but meanwhile maintaining a nice income from the sale?
Any help would be greatly appreciated in this manner.
