Question for you forum runners!!

I have a question for the people who run online communities(Forums). Would you pay to advertise your forum??? If yes how much would be your limit? This is a research question by the way so it would help me out trememdously with your response. Also I am going to run a poll. Thanks.

I'm not adertising at the moment.

but I plan on updating an existing forum, and launching a new one in August. Then, I will buy some advertising.

I am leaning towards google site targeted ads because of their easy management, but I would consider a banner on a selected site.
I even have looked at placing a classified ad in a specialty 'newspaper' for a couple weeks.

Yes, I would if I could afford to.

Even a little bit of advertising can help get a forum off the ground. How much you spend really depends on what you can afford, so I'm not sure giving any number would help you much.

As for "how much," it depends on where the advertising is.
