Designing new skin for my forum... color choice please help!

Hi,

My forum is about students etc... concerns education :D I decided to go custom from default skin and I've trouble choosing basic color scheme, I'm a designer but I'm used to working with customers and utilizing their choises and preferances... when it comes to my own stuff, I'm always slow on choosing :D please help me decide on these candy looks... which one? I thought maybe red, but? is it good for a community would u feel good looking at that color? or maybe relaxing green? I'm confused!!!

The second one is probably my favourite, not too dark but still fairly neutral.

since its a student forum, wouldn't it be better to use some lively colors? like blue and red? :S I'm drawing custom mascots now :D

But what type of "student forum?"

Is it for serious study? A place to let off steam? Relaxing? A place to get a date? Is there soda involved?

What are the students doing there? :)

nothing for now... I just ordered custom modification to be done... it will be an university review page...

and here... I just finished drawing mascot... I mean myself :D

what do you think? I need 3 more... 2 girsl and 1 more boy :D I'm drawing typical students as u may see :armed:

That's a pretty nice drawing you've got there :greenthum (although I certainly would never wear that colour of top ;) )

thx :D well... that's like colors of brazil... green hat and yellow shirt :D I'm braziomaniac :D so thts the influence there :D

hey, is there any good tutorial on how to code vb skin? I would love to do it all myself... :D I'm among those who learn and do evetything with their hands :D so I would like to code this myself too... any suggestions welcome, thx in advance!

did u check very last sample? with footer? there is no black background :S
