Hello,

These are the statistics for a forum that we have set up. It was set up about 4 days ago and I have a stupid problem:

Threads: 36
Posts: 301
Members: 163
Active Members: 163

Basically the members in 4 days have posted an average of roughly just 2 posts. That's abnormally low! Also look at the difference between the threads and the posts. Ten times as many posts as threads. Are people just too shy to create new threads?

What shall I do?

Ten times as many posts as threadsLooks pretty normal to me. :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it tends to happen with new forums. I'd be pretty pleased at getting so many members so quickly. If you keep the activity up, they'll get the idea and start posting too. :)

If you had equal posts and threads, that would mean nobody was replying to threads :P

And no one replying to threads means you have a problem as well. I like to keep a 30 to 40+ post per member average, but that usually comes with time and doesn't happen right away.

For the most part on a new forum the most interesting new posts are usually created by the staff. :D Users browse the forum, see a topic they like, and reply. It is a lot harder to get someone to post a good interesting topic unless they need help/info themselves.
I'd say for 4 days that pretty good activity.
