Hi to all,

I am in this field for almost more than 3 years, http://www.idealwebtools.com/blog/ is where I live on WWW. I just got to this forum through webhostingtalk (someone's singature) as community is my passion and profession.

I have few suggestion (may be too early for it),

Please remove the spam stuff from registration, it was irritating as I put space in between and then removed it and then added something else. Asking your users brain cycle is an expensive strategy and should be avoided.

second the forums are too many and confusing, merge the forums and add them later.

Nice to be here.

^ Do you think the forum categories are too many? My gosh I think they are very less.

What you found confusing exactly? I see all categories wonderfully descriptioned by the Faculties here.

I wish there were more forums for Forum-Softwares discussions and Forum-Revenues.

Have broad categories initially and then break it up with time. Intially I see

Managing Members ,
In the Beginning Managing Staff, Managing Issues, Building and Maintenance and few more should be clubbed to one forum say "Managing community" (not the right name).

With time I can co-ordinate on this issue.

Humm, in the week I've been away someone seems to have moved the :couch: around a little, I'll grant you that. It's still not that big though. I'm not sure if Community Challenges worked quite as well as originally planned.

I'm not sure about the spam stuff in registration, don't remember anything of the sort.

"What does FU mean?" was the question I got and I answered “Forum University” but it doesn’t trim the space character. So I had to redo it few times to get it right. I can be judged a little less intellectual but then that’s what customers are. Someone very well said that "Do not underestimate the foolishness of your customers".

Just my suggestions and thanks for reading it.

"What does FU mean?" was the question I got ...Thanks for the feedback. We have had that system in place for the past month and maybe you were the first one to get that question. :)

I've removed that particular one. Any left are simple, "Please type xxx in the box."

As for "too many forums," I'm with India in thinking it seems about right for now.

We'll see what others have to say about it. :)

You are welcome :)

Sure, I had debated on this issue with many community managers. I have seen how less forums helps common people.

All the forums get used for their particular subject :) All is good.
