Hi!

For my first post, I thought I'd get some feedback on my forum. That way I can work out what I need to improve, and find out how.

I know a lot of you will be very unfamiliar with this type of forum, and possibly a bit "scared." I come from a sort of centre-ground between technical/web things and things related to the arts. (I actually found out about here at WHT...) The people already on my forum seem to be the nicest people in the world!!!

I'v been going for exactly 3 weeks now and I have 2944 articles and 217 users. $8 went into this (and that was the domain!) as I managed to get a sponsor (on Free WHT!)

What do you think???:smooch:

I like it! One of the best phpBB boards I've seen in a while. You've got quite a few categories, perhaps too many? I know you don't have the option of subforums, so maybe you'll be ok with that number.

Either way, it looks good, all the best of luck :)

Thanks for the feedback (theres no smile smiley!) Glad you like it.

I probably would have gone for IPB or VBulletin, but I just dont have the cash. I suppose you've got to make the most of what you've got...

I tried installing sub-forums but it gave me lots of headaches with php. The members don't seem to mind though....

Anyone else?

What do you think?Coulda swore I responded to this thread when you first posted.

I'm not a fan of landing pages for the sake of landing pages. If I want to go to a site, I want to go to the site. Why do you have that page?

I do like the forum skin. The green is dominant, while not being over bearing.

It seems you put the right amount of thought into your categories, as they all appear popular enough.

The only suggestion I have is to reconsider the landing page.

We had/have a small rodent problem. Our : ) emoticon has become our :) emoticon. :nervous:

I have a landing page, so that I can include metatags. I also considered that if I ever want to anything strange (hey...who knows!) then it would be easier done in a simple html document.
There are also considerations about another section (sort of FAQ about Wicked.)

I know what you mean though...I'll think about it:doh:

Thanks for the feedback, it certainly has made me think more:peace:
