I am getting ready to announce to the members the change in ownership. Any tips from other community owners?

I have to go along with Minarette. :)
Just do it! :fu:
From the sounds of it, members will be excited about new ownership.
I'm sure you've already thought about, along with new ownership, telling members what new (if anything) is in store for them. ;)
I hope you're planning on sending an email to all registered members as well as a forum thread. I'd suggest getting feedback on what you propose to say before you say it.
Great news though!
Now get crackin!' :whip:

I posted a rough draft for moderators to review. We have discussed some of the upcoming changes. We had a little stall after the change in ownership and need to get back on track.

What is the name of the forum you took over?
I could tell you, but I am not sure it is public knowledge yet, so I'll :noevil:

I doubt he'd have to keep this thread (actually, the other thread) secret. :) In fact, I'd think that if members of the forum saw this thread, they'd be comforted to know that it is something that he didn't take lightly. That there were reasons for a delay. And that there really is a plan.
But then, I can't keep rodents outa my attic. :) :bawling: :)

OddFact, that forum is really slow, for me. What's your hosting setup with that? Clustered over a few servers? Although it's heavy graphically, and doesn't zip along like FU or WHT. I guess your crowd there likes a graphic heavy interface? :iunno:

Bob that is one of the reasons for a new skin. Even the lite version is a little bulky. The comomunity is still not large enough for a cluster on it's own. I believe it was on a cluster when iNET had the site. Even then the full verison of the skin was still a slow load.
I only ever went there when I was *checking* stuff ;) It was way too slow loading for me to go browsing for the fun of it. Hopefully that will change under the new ownership :evilb:

Pretty happy with the change myself. iNET couldn't really fit us in with their business model, and it took a bit for the new owners to get to us but they picked a good new owner and i'm pretty hopeful for the future of yaxay.
Should be interesting!
