FU has the domain global-warming-2007.com (http://global-warming-2007.com/) to use for the Seo World Championship (http://www.seoworldchampionship.com/).
I set up a quick index page and am thinking a forum (http://global-warming-2007.com/globalwarming-awareness2007) might help.
One thing with the forum is, maybe we can talk about globalwarning awareness2007 as it pertains to a fictionalized planet.
This should be a great learning experience. Both in SEO and global warming awareness.
Anyone is free (in fact, encouraged) to make recommendations and suggestions.

Should we maybe do that idea with the whole site - looking at what global warming is and how it relates to planet Apollo for example (Roman god of sun)? Or do we want to keep it to Earth?

That might be a good idea. If we go with the premise that it's fiction (based on reality) I think we can get the key phrase in a lot without looking like we're trying to. :)
Durn it. I just finished a mockup of a site. Maybe I'll have to tweak it a bit.
Let's hear if everyone wants to go with the entire site based on planet fu. :fuheart:

I think I have a design up that we can work with. :)
/open to suggestions on content.
Speaking of content, do you think we should create keyword forum names, user titles, etc?

That's certainly a design that we can work with. Not sure about the black stripes in the logo, doesn't seem to fit the rest of it.
I don't know if we need to run and create a bunch of users with global warming associated names, but things like user titles are certainly simple enough to do.

How about if everything was in the globalwarming-awareness2007 directory? Not just the forum, but all other site pages as well.

fyi, googlemail sent your signup activation link to the spambox. ;)
also, iirc, I had to match the 'case' of the signup reading test letters when registering. I don't usually have to match case when registering on forums.

Google has been busy (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=globalwarming+awareness2007&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a) already. How about putting google analytics on (if it isn't already), that way we can watch how we're doing.
I think we need to work on the site first, then the forum (which is getting spam already!). Forums are much harder to SEO than a site, even though we want to learn about both.
If we're agreed with that design, I might try and make it tableless (which may kill me) but should be easier for spiders.

Great idea.
I think we need to work on the site first, then the forumYeah. The site still needs a lot of work. :spiderloo
(which is getting spam already!). Two! Already two spammers!

Have at it. :P
Speaking of the site, it definitly needs some content. I just threw something up to have something up. But, when it comes to content, would it work better if we wrote proposed page content here and then edited the site? Wouldn't that give us something inbound for everything? Or would the search engines frown upon that?

I would start with the bit Lois put on the forum, that could be the about page or something. Then maybe a page on what global warming is, and what people can do to help.
I don't think they would frown on it.
Oh, and maybe the site could go in the Friends of FU bit at the bottom? That way FU's higher ranked pages would also be linking to it.

So, you're thinking we should do that site about Proudle?
Scott

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, what's other peoples thoughts?

I'd like to go with globalwarming on Proudle and on Earth. Some people will be more interested in one than the other, and more content is good. :goggle:
