Is there a way to build a section on the registering page where you select your username and password that you can put custom registration feilds?

Sure. (if I understand what you're asking) :)

Open your admincp > User Profile Fields > Add New User Profile Field > Choose your desired option from the pulldown menu > In configuration page, choose "Field Required = Yes at Registration and Profile updating" (erm, if you want it as required information at those times) or "No. But display at Registration" if you just want the extra fields. Anywho, let us know if that's what you wanted or not.
