Now where's that number 1 spot?

Now where's that number 1 spot?A month ago, I wouldn't have dared think about gaining the number one position.
Now it seems possible.
I figured this project would be a fun way for all of us to learn a little about this thing they call SEO.
I would have been elated to crack the top 25.
Now I'll be deflated if we don't crack the top 1. If even for an hour. :fuheart:

A month ago, I wouldn't have dared think about gaining the number one position.
My thoughts exactly. Even 2 weeks ago (http://www.forumuniversity.com/campus/showpost.php?p=8461&postcount=4) I didn't think we'd be back up to the top again.
I have, however, put a few thinks on some sites which I think/hope will make a difference.
The thing that surprises me the most is google. It's ranking reasonably highly (compared to some others) yet has 0 PR and only 1 apparent link (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=link%3Aglobal-warming-2007.com%2F&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:official&client=firefox-a).

Google don't seem too good at that.

I don't mind slipping back to #3.
If you notice this screenshot, you'll see that we've increased our standings in Google and made a good jump in Yahoo.
#1 seems the next likely position in the contest for us.

Well you got there, albiet briefly :smooch:  :fish:

Yup. I'd call it a success, just being there briefly.
Of course, being in the top 10 as long as we have been is an accomplishment we should be proud of.
Let's focus on staying in that top 10 for another 10 weeks or so. :)

Is it May 1st yet?
We're #1 in MSN and #9 in Yahoo today.
That's pretty awesome. :fu:
So, to answer your question; No! :P If anything, we need more links. Must have more links. Link. Link. Link.

Up to #7 in Yahoo, putting us a whole 4 points clear of the runner up! Time, I think, to :google::whip:

I don't get why google is having a time with our link strategy.
May as well take a picture of our current position while we're here.

Have you had a look at some of the tools (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/) google has? Some of them are quite useful.

yes, that is when I have enough time to do seo, but then after a week of absence in the net, other competitor took the advantage before noticing i was being down. but it is a great experience anyway.

Of course SoftwareRevue :)
Eventhough I am a little sad because I can't win this SEO contest, but at least I can make some improvements in my blog development. I told my chatting friends yesterday that my globalwarming blog could have a PR5 in less than 4 months.... and they said "woow...that's great...!"
And then they asked me how much fee they must pay if I help them to let their websites get PR5 as mine..., but I still don't know the answer... :)

Do you have a good price list for this Mann3r ? :)
Some other websites charge US $55/month for this.
Can you give me your suggestion, please?

you mean price for SEO work? as you know Google PR, relies mainly on high PR links. As for the price, 55$/month for SEO work is cheap, but if you are talking about link sale on PR5, 55$/month is fair enough as long as you keep on updating the content of your site
